Hi all! I just want to say good luck to this years teams heading to the Czech Republic. In my 3 times there I have to say that it was a wonderful time and there were tons of great memories that came home with me. The chance to see how other paramedics and physicians operate throughout the world was invaluable and continues to inform my practice. I can't say enough good things about the competition (of course, 2 silver and a gold helps!). I wish everyone the best and hope that you have as good of a time as we did.
I had the honor of going the Rallye in 2006. I have the fondest memories of that trip. Met many interesting people and saw a country I probably wouldn't have seen otherwise. Good luck to Team Canada.
I had the privilege of attending the Rallye Rejviz in 2005 as a competitor, and again four times as a judge in the years following. There are no words to describe the scale of this competition. My hat is off to the hundreds of volunteers and staff that work countless hours to make the RR a fun and educational experience. I don’t think there is an event anywhere that attracts teams from so many different services around the world.
Have fun and good luck!
Wishing both Team Canada East and West the best of luck as they embark on a monumental event in their career. As a past participant in 2012, 2013, 2015, & 2016, I was able to form friendships around the world, some of whom have been able to travel here to British Columbia. I would like to thank the Rallye Rejviz for the opportunity for allowing us to join this event. My favourite part of the Rallye Rejviz has always been the Glorious Drive where over 100 ambulances drive through the small towns in the jezinik area as hundreds of children and families line the street waving and cheering.
You are ambassadors representing pre-hospital emergency care in Canada.
Enjoy the moment.
We are looking forward to you guys!
We are looking forward to your excellent work and thank you for the promotion and support Rallye Rejvíz in your country!
you are great proffessionals and good chums :-)
I looking forward to see you soon at Rallye Rejviz
Looking forward to seeing Team West again and meeting the new guys! It was an honour to represent Canada under Clarke's coaching last year and I can honestly say it was a highlight of 2016 for me. Our entire Team Ontario is very excited about the Rallye Rejviz 2017! The Rallye Rejviz hosts are fantastic, Czech beer is the best, and the competition is first class. See you all soon!!
I have not participated in any paramedic competitions, but I am very aware of the time and dedication it takes by participants to compete. I have had the privilege to work and support the team in several capacities I held with the BC Ambulance Service in my 38 year tenure with the organization. As a retired member with the BCAS 10-7 Association I shall continue to offer my support, and encourage all my fellow BCAS retirees to do the same.
The teams are truly an inspiration for our profession. I have no doubt both teams will do well at this years competition.
You guys will do us proud, that I am sure of! Do your best and enjoy the experience and we will all be proudly cheering you on from here!
Great team! Have a great time! Don't forget your czechlists.
Hearing well-wishes and enthusiasm for this storied competition is very encouraging. Thank you kindly all. We have a big practice day tomorrow that will put our preparation to the test. I'm looking forward to seeing how effective our team dynamic is.
April 2 practice was excellent. Thank you to the Canadian Coast Guard for their participation.
The practice day was chok full of simulated tasks requiring Paramedic intervention (amongst other things) that put our team dynamic to the test. It revealed that we are on track to putting on a solid performance and revealed areas requiring further consideration.
Looks like BCEHS will sponsor us with helmets (not to mention other support they have kindly provided us) to keep us safe during competition tasks and so we can represent that BCEHS is on the cutting edge of safety provision - there are some initiatives being executed presently in this regard. You never know, they might come in handy outside of competition too ;-)
I also have the good fortune of being sponsored by Littmann with a new Cardiology IV stethoscope. It's been excellent at work and getting good reviews from friends I have loaned it too. The bell construction seems more resilient and sealed than the Cardiology III that I have been using for numerous years.
Actually Will much Like 3M Littman your new helmets will be provided by our new sponsor "in kind" the Bruller Corporation they are on our sponsors page and you just click on to link directly with their website. All of our sponsors are linked so everyone can see what they offer. Five weeks away from departure looking forward to the journey, the Czech Republic is a wonderful country and the Rallye Rejviz is the best pre-hospital event I have ever attended.......
Team Canada BC..........your next task is.........4/20.......mass gathering.
Surely nothing can go wrong.......
I'm hanging outside for 12 hours on the beach. Thanks to CUPE Local 873 and Stormtech for the Team Canada BC vest for warmth. Testing it out for competition......
Proud to be following your trip online, God Speed
We had a wonderful experience at the Rallye Rejviz this year with Team Canada Ontario winning GOLD yet again, well done men.
Team BC placed a respectable 6th with Hungary Air Ambulance winning Silver and Austria the Bronze.
I was humbled with a prestigious award for promoting our profession and the event worldwide.
We are working out some glitches on our links page so not to worry!
If you are thinking of forming a competition team or have questions about the Rallye Rejviz just ask we always encourage teams to attend as this is the largest event in the world.
Our team has been practicing and preparing for May and we can hardly wait to a return visiting our friends in the Czech & Slovak Republic.
On the topic I believe the Paramedic Association of Canada is planning a competition at their annual event this September in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Team Canada is always among top favorites. We are honored by your participation because it is a great opportunity to learn from your perfect performance. Looking forward to meet you soon :-)
What, no blogging going on here??!!??!!
Gene was telling me y'all are practicing with fervour getting ready for the professional liasing to come......oh, and the competition tasks too.
Feedback from last year?.......respect the doctor's authority, consider the transport time in treatment plans, and try not to look like you're in a line to block a soccer penalty kick when posing for photos ;)
Work hard for this, caballeros, and you will make your own luck.
Thanks Will! Lots to learn from last year - awesome reminders. We’ll miss you, but sounds like you have a pretty epic vacation coming up - we’ll tip a Czechvar 🍻 to your safe travels. Catch up when we both get back!
We look forward to hearing from you.
